Train Travel in Malaysia
Malaysia has two major train lines running on West and East Coast of the country respectively. Both lines intersect at Gemas, where you need to change trains to continue your journey further. East coast line is commonly referred as “The Jungle Railway”.

On the other end of line, train terminates at Johar Bahru station. From here you can take a shuttle train to Woodlands station in Singapore.

Travellers can book train tickets in Malaysia upto 30 days before their journey. You can just go to your nearest Malaysian railways station with your passport and book tickets for your upcoming journey.
Here’s a guide on How to book train tickets online official Malaysian railways booking website.
- Go to official Malaysian train booking website.
- Login into your account or create a new one.
- Select source, destination, your travel dates and number of passengers in respective fields.
- Click on search button and different trains will be listed.
- Select your preferred train.
- Select your preferred coach type and seats.
- Enter you passenger details and contact information.
- Your passenger and booking details will be displayed. Recheck everything and select your payment method and complete your payment.
- Finally, A mail-on confirmation will be forwarded to the passenger with the train ticket.
Although it is recommended to use official site to book train tickets in Malaysia, you can use third party vendors like 12go Asia, Baolau to book tickets for your convenience.
Singapore to Malaysia train booking

Thailand to Malaysia train booking
There are two trains to Thailand from Malaysia. One is shuttle train to Hat Yai in South Thailand and other is sleeper train to Bangkok. You can book train tickets for shuttle train online by following the steps above.
